Only the Top Section Remains

Dominic working  on a patch

After earlier forecasts suggested a wet day they gradually changed to good ones and had a good and successful day in comfortable conditions for working.

The initial section cleared was quite scrubby then it became much less so, although a few low dense bushy areas had to be dealt with. The length of new track cleared was a stunning 203 metres, that went all the way to our objective, the junction with the Devils Throne Track.

We were not pestered by mosquitoes or March flies at all during the day, possibly because the temperatures hovered around the 7° which sounds cold but in fact we mostly worked without jumpers. The only time if felt cool was when it became cloudy during the afternoon.

This leaves the top section which when measured totalled 213 metres. However much of this is not overly scrubby and good progress is anticipated.

Some poles will be needed to mark the junctions and possibly where the track makes a turn. A name also is desirable to indicate that the track takes you to Devils Throne.
