Goat Hills Erica Clearance

Tuesday 7 October 2014

It was an uncertain day after the rain of the previous afternoon and night, but it remained reasonably fine most of the time. On this occasion we headed to the large patch of primary Erica and began work on it. Rather pleasingly we managed to clear the whole patch.
The Erica was in many instances almost shoulder height but the soil was soft and quite a number could be simply pulled out. However there was still plenty that needed cutting down and herbicide applied.
We returned through one of our old work sites and were pleased not to find many seedlings there.  On getting close to the cars we could not resist cutting down some of the remaining Boneseed.
