New Town Rivulet
Tuesday 16 August 2002
Over the past few years, Friends of Wellington Park have obtained grant funding and done other work with Hobart City Council, including weeding and planting, to rehabilitate an area beside New Town Rivulet in Lenah Valley.
On 16 August, 3 volunteers from the Friends joined about half a dozen council staff to plant about 100 more native plants, mostly monocots, in the area, and spread a truckload of mulch around new and previous plantings. We also did some more weeding nearby.
Thanks to Bec Johnson, the Hobart Council Bushcare team leader, for organising this event, including the supply of plants and mulch.
