Native Cherry Spanish Heath
Tuesday 4 June 2024
There is a patch of Spanish heath in the valley of Humphreys Rivulet beside Native Cherry Fire Trail. Quite a lot was removed, even though we only had a small group.
We were treated to morning tea and a delicious cake by Tasmanian Landcare to mark the 30th anniversary of the organisation. The weather was also delightful and got quite warm especially so because we were mostly in full sun.
On checking further in to the site, it was apparent that outlier pockets of Spanish heath were present and, on the next working bee, these will be concentrated on before tackling some of the remaining larger infestations.
