This follow up through this area revealed enough small plants nearly all before reaching flowering age, so it was a all very worthwhile time without a lot of effort.   The soil being damp allowed the vast majority of plants to be pulled out.  
Some of the threatened Epacris virgata in the vicinity had bushed out since the last observation several years ago.   The impact of dry conditions and animal grazing make life difficult for the plants.
